On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Mr. Pampa 2012-12-10 10:29
Country, map sheet, date (discovery):

Request: Funddaten: Deutschland, Hamburg-Rissen, Schnaakenmoor, an einem Baumpilz an abgestorbener Birke, 27. April 2011, eigenes Freilandfoto. Cisidae (Schwammkäfer), aber dann? Bitte ID
Species, family:
Bolitophagus reticulatus
Tenebrionidae
Comment: Hallo Mr. Pampa, das ist die Tenebrionide Bolitophagus reticulatus. Europa, Sibirien. LG, Christoph

LG, Christoph

Request: Funddaten: Deutschland, Schleswig-Holstein, Stadt Schenefeld, Siedlungsgelände, ca. 5 mm, 22. August 2012, eigenes Freilandfoto. Vielleicht ein Blattkäfer ? Bitte ID.
Species, family:
Bradycellus sp.
Carabidae

Request: I hope I didn't send too much, the 2 last weeks. Those were the beetles I wasn't sure about. This one is the last for this year. I know it isn't one of Europe but maybe you can help me because I didn't find anything.
Beetle found in Bali, Indonesia (January 2012)
Scarabaeidae
Thanks for every answer I got
Species, family:
Gametis plagiata
Scarabaeidae
Comment: This is a Rosechafer, subfamily Cetoniinae of family Scarabaeidae (some author take it as family Cetoniidae), but the number of species in the tropics and neotropics is this huge, that we can't tell what species this is. Regards, Klaas I contacted Jean-Philippe Legrand, an expert for the Indonesian Cetoniinae fauna. He determined the beetle as Gametis plagiata. Regards, Christoph

LG, Christoph

Request: Think it's one of the Staphilinidae family, but can someone bring this one on a specfic name?
About 2 mm big
Thanks in advance, Luc
Species, family:
Staphylinidae sp.
Staphylinidae
Comment: Hey Luc, I mean yes, it is a Staphylinidae species, but that's about it. There is no way to determine the species based on this photo, which is - with all due respect - way too small and not well-resolved. Regards, Christoph OK, which jokester clicked on "I like the photo"...? ;-)

Ein Triebstecher - aber dann? Bitte ID (Danke im Voraus!).
Species, family:
Byctiscus betulae
Rhynchitidae

Holarktisch verbreitet. Ubiquist. Hygrophil, phytodetriticol. In faulenden Vegetabilien, Detritus und Genist. Bei uns überall häufig. LG, Christoph
