On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Found in Bielsko-Biala, South Poland, 10.05.2013. Decidouos forest, close to small river.
Species, family:
cf. Sclerophaedon sp.
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi Inja, that's an interesting one. I think it is a Sclerophaedon species. Although also present in Germany I never found one of them. From what I see it might be S. carniolicus, but that should be confirmed by a specialist for the Polish fauna. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:
Ceutorynchinae sp.

Request: Is this Ampedus sanguineus ?
I found it on a dead pine tree begin May.
It looks bigger than most click beetles.
(13 mm)
Species, family:
Ampedus sp.
Elateridae
Comment: Hi verstraeten, it might be Ampedus sanguineus, but in this case we should better stick with Ampedus sp. I would need high-res photos of the pronotum and elytra to judge punctation and color of the pubescence. Regards, Christoph

Comment: Hi Inja, with this picture any attempt to come to a proper det seems futile to me. It might be again Limodromus assimilis, but that's more guesswork than anything else. Sorry. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:
cf. Chrysolina coerulans
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi Inja, same as in the previous request (#3601). Should be Chrysolina coerulans, with some uncertainty. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:
cf. Chrysolina herbacea
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi Inja, to me this looks rather like Chrysolina, maybe C. herbacea. But as we do not see the shape of the pronotum, this is with a fair amount of uncertainty. Regards, Christoph

Request: Huhu!
Polyphag an verschiedenen Sträuchern. LG, Christoph
