On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

LG, Christoph

Request: Found today (22.05.2013) on sunny meadow, Bielsko-Biala (South Poland). Length: about 6mm, found on the same plant on which I met G. viridula
Species, family:
Hypera cf. rumicis
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Inja, the lateral photos make it difficult. However, it might be Hypera rumicis, which would also fit your observation, that G. viridula was present on the same plant (should be consequently a sorrel, Rumex sp.). Regards, Christoph

Comment: Hi Inja, this should be Ancistronycha cyanipennis, although the blueish shine of the elytra is not visible in this specimen. Regards, Christoph

Request: Found today (22.05.2013) on sunny meadow, Bielsko-Biala (South Poland). Apion frumentarium ?
Species, family:
Apion frumentarium
Apionidae
Comment: Hi Inja, given the bright red color, body length and (as far as I can see) the narrow shape of the head, this is another Apion frumentarium. Like all the red Apion sp. on sorrels (Rumex). Regards, Christoph

Request: Found today (22.05.2013) on sunny meadow, Bielsko-Biala (South Poland). L. tessulatus. I want to show a proof of belonging these two different forms to one species.
Species, family:
Liophloeus cf. tessulatus
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Inja, same as before. Still I have a constantly bad feeling about these specimens, which normally is not a good sign. You might want to present some of these to an expert for the Polish fauna. Best regards, Christoph

Species, family:
Oedemera sp.
Oedemeridae
Comment: Hi Inja, either Oedemera virescens or O. montana. We would need an altitude to identify this down to the species. O virescens is found in the lowlands, whereas O. montana, as the name already implies, prefers the mountain range. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:
Malachius cf. bipustulatus
Malachiidae
Comment: Hi Inja, probably Malachius bipustulatus. A female, which is even more difficult, because it does not exhibit the characteristically shaped base articles of the antennae. Therefore is my det with uncertainty. Regards, Christoph

LG, Christoph

Species, family:
Lixus circumcinctus

Comment: Dear Ozgur70, as I'm not an expert for the Turkish fauna, I contacted Levent Gültekin from Atatürk University, Erzurum. He determined the species as Lixus circumcinctus Boheman, 1835. There is a scientific paper available on the internet about the natural history of this species, written by Gültekin/Korotyaev, published in Dec 2011. Best regards, Christoph PS: Nice species and nice photos!

Request: Hallo liebes Bestimmungsteam! Was meint ihr dazu? Ist eine Artansprache möglich? Danke und liebe Grüße (10. Mai 2013, Fischteichkomplex)
Species, family:
Phyllobius pomaceus
Curculionidae

Larve in verschiedenen Laubhölzern. Nicht selten. LG, Christoph
