On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hi Inja, I checked the Romanian Lixus fauna on Fauna Europaea and tried to exclude either by habitus and/or host plant. I ended up with L. angustatus. That being said, please keep in mind that I'm not an expert for the weevil fauna of Southeast Europe. So my guess should be taken with care and not be regarded as firm determination. Comment: Hallo rüssler, das ist keine Magdalis, sondern ein Pselaphorhynchites longiceps. Vergleich die beiden mal im neuen Vergleichsmodul. Du siehst, dass der Körperumriss von Magdalis geschlossen langoval ist, während Pselaphorhynchites zwischen Halsschild und Flügeldecken deutlich eingekerbt ist. Beachte auch die Länge der Fühlergeißel. In Deutschland haben wir drei Pselaphorhynchites-Arten. Dein Tier ist P. longiceps aufgrund von Färbung, Habitus und Rüssellänge. Europa bis Sibirien, an Salix. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Appius, das ist der Blatthornkäfer Oxythyrea funesta. In Süd- und Mitteldeutschland doch regelmäßiger zu finden, nach Norden hin selten oder fehlend. RL 2 (stark gefährdet). Gut erkennbar an den sechs weißen Flecken auf dem Halsschild, die ihn von Tropinota hirta unterscheiden. Nordafrika, Mittelmeerraum, im Norden bis Mitteleuropa, im Osten bis Transkaukasien. Comment: Hallo Appius, das ist eine unserer drei Charopus-Arten: C. concolor mit ganz schwarzen Beinen, C. flavipes mit hellen Vorder- und Mittelschienen und C. pallipes, bei dem alle Schienen gelb sind. Hier also Charopus flavipes. Europa ohne den Westen, Käfer an schatigen Orten (lichte Laubwälder, Waldränder), frißt an Pollen. LG, Christoph

Comment: Moin rolf, die Aufnahme ist vom Aufnahmewinkel her unglücklich. Ich vermute einen Vertreter der Gattung Altica, welche nur über Penis oder Spermatheka genauer bestimmbar sind.
