On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo,
I don't know if it is even possible to determine only the species by this picture...but is this Scarabeus laticollis?
International Tagus Natural Park; 12.04.2014
Thank you :-)
Species, family:
Scarabaeus laticollis
Scarabaeidae
Comment: Hi Ana, although I'm not an expert for the fauna of Portugal, this one I think should be Scarabaeus laticollis. Mediterranean, from Spain, North Africa to Turkey. This paper of Zídek and Pokorný provides descriptions, a key and photos of all 27 palearctic species. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:
Staphylinus/Platydracus sp.

In so fern mal was neues für mich.

Request: Immenstadt Seifer Becken 730m 17.4.14,
ich tippe auf Percilus versiculor Käfer ca. 12mm.
Species, family:
Poecilus cupreus
Carabidae

Eugen
Species, family:
Cantharis livida/fusca
Cantharidae
Comment: Moin Eugen, richtig erkannt. Genauer gesagt sogar Gattung Cantharis, vermutlich C. livida oder C. fusca. Viele Grüße, Klaas

Request: Hi!
Welchen Käfer hab ich hier gefunden?
Wohnung, Hirzenhain, Wetterau, Hessen, ca. 265 m ü. NN, 02.04.2014

Cedric
Species, family:
Histerinae sp.
Histeridae
