On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

LG, Christoph

Request: Hallo !2 mm (Belgium 7830 Silly - 16/05/2014). Hydrophilidae...Helophorus ... ? Danke und Viele Grüße. Genaue Größe: 2,8 mm. Sorry und danke. Pierre.
Species, family:
Helophorus sp.
Hydrophilidae

LG, Christoph

Request: on the humid ground, in a park, under a Tree, the 11.11.2014 , in France, Oxelaëre, Asaphidion curtum ?
Species, family:
Asaphidion sp.
Carabidae
Comment: Hi Thomas, it is hard enough to identify genus Asaphidion in Germany and Centraleurope, it is worst doing it going more south. By not knowing the other species' occuring in France we can't help to get down to species level. Best regards, klaas

Request: Is that A. scrutator?
Species, family:
Aphodius sp.
Scarabaeidae
Comment: Hi Inja, photo B shows the lower side and allows to judge if the color of the abdomen is black or red. Abdomen red: A. foetens. Abdomen black (this is the case): A. fimetarius or A. pedellus. The latter two can be only distinguished by inspection of the genitals. And that only with difficulty. A. scrutator can be excluded: the scutellum is way to short for that. Regards, Christoph

Request: Guten Tag,
