View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case at least a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given. Requests to the kerbtier.de ID team can be submitted on the request page. The answered requests are published here shortly (currently 3 hours on average) after submitting.

In Europa ohne die iberische Halbinsel. LG, Christoph PS: Bei dem Foto auf dem Maßband sollte man die Gedankenblase des Käfers sehen: "Scheiß Käferspinner!". ;-D LG, Christoph

Hi Inja, Amara is correct. However, I am not able to identify the specimen to the species level. Some of the frequently encountered species can be excluded, as for instance A. aenea, similata/ovata (all of which have three yellow basal antenna segments). Also group of species with yellow legs (familiaris/lucida/anthobia) can be excluded. Cheers, Oliver

Hey Inja, I think to make the next step in the Athous case, you might like to get some scientific determination literature for the Polish Athous fauna and try.   Hi Inja, this is a representative of genus Protapion. There are two species that are likely, P. fulvipes and P. nigritarse.
